The XIII Congress SIGU (Italian Society of Human Genetics) has the aim to update about emerging issues and new generation technologies those who works in the field of the Human and Medical Genetics. The first step will be the inaugural reading of Professor S. Mundios (from Berlin) about the molecular dissection and pathogenetic cascade of “Genetic disorders with limbs defects”. The session on “Induced pluripotent stem cells” offers an overviewabout progresses and finding, treatment purpose of this powerful new tecnologic tool.
All the other plenary sessions have a strong multidisciplinary purpose as “Epilepsy Genetics” or “New frontiers controlling the stability of the genome ” and finally the session organized jointly with the Italian Society of Perinatal Medicine (SIMP) entitled “A multidisciplinary approach to the study of fetal malformations”. The new thing introduced with this conference is the Youth Session, organized by young researchers on a topic selected theme.
