The third is characterized by two elements, in addition to those classics of ICAR organized so far.The first is the presence in the calendar of the Congress of the International AIDS Society (IAS), to be held in July 2011 in Rome.
It is an opportunity, as it is possible to link events with those of IAS ICAR, ICAR creating a space to promote IAS, and IAS to present the best works come to light in March in ICAR. It is a great way to give visibility to the Italian scientific reality, creating continuity with IAS as a global event.
The second element is the proximity of the CROI, which in 2011 will end in early March. ICAR is an important opportunity to create the two international events, a space in which to discuss and present new research by comparing them with the Italian international. The CROI, in fact, usually represents the cornerstone of biomedical research on AIDS, which set up the activities of the entire year.
In essence, then, at a conference institution as ICAR you can perform updates post-CROI, avoiding to disperse the country. In addition to these factors, in itself innovative, ICAR 2011 will focus, as every year on biomedical issues trying to make room for subject areas not fully developed in other meetings.
Attention will be given to innovative diagnostic and its inclusion in the diagnostic and therapeutic clinical practice. Finally there will be areas dedicated to therapeutic advances and the pre-congress courses specifically targeted at young people.
