From 1 April tehere will be Observatory of Florence, the exhibition ‘Crystals. The finest display of minerals in the world ‘, which will remain open until June 30, 2012, thanks to a recent extension (he should have stayed open until 1 October 2009).
The history of the collection consists of over 500 samples, coincides with the history of its founder, Albert Giazotto. Particle physicist, chief of major scientific projects and adventurer, Giazotto is enchanted by the magic of crystals from a young age and, like start a small collection which over time will become a ‘wonderful’ obsession.
The exhibition include also crystals and crystal aggregates, among them we can mention: the cuprite sample of Onganja Namibia), the largest of Paprok elbaite, Afghanistan, the elbaite Coronel Murta, Brazil, the crystal Niccioleta plaster, Tuscany.
