Ritorna dal 7 al 12 Maggio 2013 il Festival d’Europa, manifestazione giunta alla seconda edizione che sarà occasione di riflessione per l’Europa di domani e laboratorio di comunicazione tra Unione Europea e cittadini. L’evento si propone di mettere in risalto la vocazione europea della Toscana e di Firenze, che ritornerà ad essere per cinque giorni capitale del vecchio continente. Il Festival si svolgerà in numerose location che vanno da Palazzo Vecchio, passando per Le Murate e il Palagio fino alla bellissima Fortezza da Basso, luogo di grandi eventi internazionali.

La giornata più importante sarà quella del 29, dove si correrà per i 279 km che collegano Lucca al centro di Firenze terminando in Campo di Marte, dove è stato creato il più importante polo sportivo della Toscana.

Come di consueto i Mondiali si svolgeranno l’ultima settimana di Settembre e fanno ritorno in Italia dopo 5 anni; infatti, l’ultima volta che il Bel Paese ha ospitato i campionati è stato a Varese nel 2008, mentre l’anno scorso ad accoglierli sono stati i Paesi Bassi e la cittadina di Valkenburg
